Once again this year the winter edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo 109 confirmed Florence as the beating heart of international men’s fashion. Walking through the stands at the Fortezza da Basso, one breathed an atmosphere of research, innovation and desire to experiment – especially in the world of accessories. Belts, bags, backpacks and small leather goods are no longer mere complements, but full-fledged protagonists of the contemporary male look.
The trends? Bold geometries, contrasting textures and solid colors. Belts widen, become structured, and are enriched with metallic details or visible stitching. Bags focus on sharp, almost architectural shapes, and play with materials with a three-dimensional effect: marked embossing, matte finishes alternating with points of light, workmanship that gives depth and character.
At the forefront are leathers capable of telling a story, surprising to touch and sight, but also guaranteeing durability and sustainability.
This is where our gaze comes in.
As Alpaca Tannery, we were at Pitti Uomo to take a closer look at where the leather market is heading in the accessories segment, and we can say with certainty: we are there and we are ready.
We have always worked side by side with designers and brands to create customized leathers that adapt to evolving tastes and styles. Our pigmented splits, in particular, prove to be ideal for responding to these new inputs: they offer a very high level of aesthetic customization, can be printed, engraved, embossed, and finished in multiple ways, guaranteeing that mix of aesthetics and functionality that is essential today.
Without forgetting the most important aspect: sustainability. All of our production is certified by LWG – Leather Working Group, testifying to our ongoing commitment to a responsible and environmentally conscious tanning industry.
We have already expanded our stock service with finishes and colors in line with the new inspirations seen at the fair: intense, natural colors, metallic accents, surfaces that are soft to the touch but visually bold. In short: we interpret trends, transform them and make them ready for use. Because for us at Alpaca Tannery, leather is not just a material, but a medium for telling visions of style.
